Default Out of memory?

Hi there! I have a very large workbook i am almost done creating and
just ran into a little hiccup: It locked up on me, telling me i have
no memory available (memory in Excel). Now i cannot even open it
anymore. I am using the 2000 version of Excel and a coworker i am
designing this for is using 2003. when i go to his computer annd oopen
it, it works...but not from mine. Now here's my question: Does the
2003 version have more memory available than 2000's? I am not finished
with the workbook, but i am close....hoowever i am not going to go
through the trouble to complete it if i am going to run out of memory
again!! If i install 2003, will that give me more memory, & if so, how
much? My workbook is currently using 55.4 mb...anybody know how much
more i can squeeze in there?? Any advice is greatly appreciated!!
thanks! Jenny

Are you really sure it's 54MB? Have you done the exercise of deleting all the
unused cells that Excel has mistakenly decided are used, and stores? Doing so
cut some of my files by 50%.

You can go to this web site to read up on it:

http://www.contextures.com/xlfaqApp.html

Search the page of for the phrase "Why do my scrollbars go to row 500"" which
occurs about half way down the page.

Good luck...

Bill
