Default Displaying text in vertical

Hi

I am using Microsoft Excel 2003.

I need to write the text in cell Vertically i.e. the characters of word
below to each other.

Is it possible or not?

Only way I know is to write the text as normal, then format the cell to wrap
the text and then narrow the cell to the width of one character.

Hope this is sufficiebt.

You can use a text box, created by clicking the text box tool on the Drawing
toolbar, and after typing a character, hold down the Shift key and press
enter to insert a new line. Repeat until the word is completely entered.

If your drawing toolbar is not visible, right+click on any visible toolbar
and select Drawing from the list of available toolbars.

Not sure if this is an option in Excel 2003 but in XP you can add a
toolbar button to do this.

On the toolbar you want to add the feature to click on "Add orRemove
Buttons". Select "Customize". On the Commands Tab select "Format"
from the Categories list and scroll down the options on the right and
click "Vertical Text" and drag it to the toolbar you want to add it to.

You can then either type the text in the cell you want and then click
on the new toolbar button to convert the text, or select the toolbar
first then type your text. When you move to the next cell, it will
convert.

Cheers,

Steve
