Default excel limitations

I heard excel can calculate 1 million functions in a second. One of my
worksheet contains 623 formulas and about 26 names(function based),which is
taking about 20-25 seconds to calculate active worksheet.Database sheet also
contains data in 150 rows and 15 columns. There are no hyperlinks in that
sheet it depends only on one othersheet which is databse sheet.Anybody plese
clarify why so much of time it is taking?

Hello

I think that that calculation should be executed instantly, more or less, so
there must be something wrong. A few suggestions:

1) Make sure you don't have circular references in your calculations (excel
usually alert you for that, but if you don´t correct it may slow the process
down
2) Have you opened all the worksheets and databases that are needed for the
calculation open? If not you may get slow calculation due to a slow hard-disk
or a slow networkconnection

Kind regards Marcus

What do you mean with 26 names, function based? Are they User Defined
Functions?
If so, post the code so we can look for performance problems
