Default copy cells which are horizontal to verticle

Hi,
How do I copy a set of cells which are horizontal to verticle or vice versa?
For example:

A B C D E F G H I J
1 a
2 b
3 c
4 d
5
6

To become

A B C D E F G H I J
1 a b c d
2
3
4
5
6

Thanks.
