I am opening an excel program from another computer on a network. When I
open it it says "file error: data may be lost" and all my comment boxes are gone. Any suggestions? |

It sounds like the workbook is corrupted.
Sometimes, you can save it by opening it in a later version of excel and saving it with that version. Lots of people have said that they could save a great deal of the data/code (not sure about comments) using OpenOffice.org. http://www.openoffice.org, a 60-65 meg download or a CD There are commercial recovery services. I've never used it, but you might want to check into: http://www.officerecovery.com Vormov wrote: I am opening an excel program from another computer on a network.
