Default Calc F9) Button and time.

I'm working with a combination of large and small files. The larger
files I open for reference purposes only.

However, if I forget to close one before I update the calculations for
something I have done on the smaller files, it takes ages.

Is there anyway I could limit the impact of F9 to the file "on top" so
to speak?
