Default Excel97 Question??

I am running Excel97. I have attempted to run several applications from
more recent versions, and with each I get an error message: file format
not valid. Is there anything to do to get around this problem??

Thanks

Default Excel97 Question??

Is the file corrupted? Can it be opened in newer Excels now? As Peo says
Excel 97 and all later versions to date use the same file format (Known as
BIFF8 to the cognoscenti). I've never seen a case personally where Excel 97
rejected an XLS file from a newer Excel. If you think the file is okay I'd
like to see it if you can send it to me.
