Grouping Sheets
I am also struggling to covert from Lotus to Excel
since it seems that MS does not group sheets with the same functionality as Lotus does anyone know of an add-in that will do the trick. Please don't suggest MACROs that's another Black Art |

Have no idea how Lotus "Groups" sheets, or even if the term "Group" in XL
means the same thing as "Group" in Lotus, but in XL, when sheets are grouped, whatever is done to one will be duplicated to all the other sheets within the "grouping". To group a contiguous range of sheets, click in the first sheet tab of the range, hold down <Shift and click in the last sheet tab. To group various assorted, non-contiguous sheets, click in the first tab, hold down <Ctrl, and click in each desired tab. All the sheets in the group have their tabs colored white, and the tab of the "main" (in focus) sheet is bold. In addition, the term [Group] is appended to the WB name in the Title Bar. Now, anything done to the in focus sheet is duplicated in all the sheets in the group. After completing the revisions, to "break out" of the group, click in a tab of a non-grouped sheet, OR, right click in any tab and choose "Ungroup Sheets". Does that come close to the Lotus functionality? -- Regards, RD --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please keep all correspondence within the NewsGroup, so all may benefit ! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- "keith" wrote in message ... Lotus groups the sheet formats through as many sheets as you choose
Whatver you do to one sheet, add rows, add columns, format cells, etc. is promulgated through all sheets. Information is not transferred but formulae copied from one sheet to another are relative so =A:a1 copied from B:b1 to sheets C, D,E will be =B:b1, =C:b1, =D:b1 ..... Thanks for reply keith "RagDyer" wrote: Have no idea how Lotus "Groups" sheets, or even if the term "Group" in XL means the same thing as "Group" in Lotus, but in XL, when sheets are grouped, whatever is done to one will be duplicated to all the other sheets within the "grouping".
