Default "Disk is full" error

I am getting a "disk is full" error in Excel when I save a document that has
previously been saved.

I am saving to a mapped network drive that has over a a 100gb of free space.

Any ideas why I would be getting this message?

After the "disk is full" error message I then get "document not saved". If
I try and save again after receiving these error messages I get the message
"The document was saved successfully, but Excel cannot re-open it because of
a sharing violation. Please close the document and try to open it again."

If I then press save again I get the "save as" screen.

If I rename the file and save in the same location, it saves.

Help. I do not want to have to keep saving as a new file everytime I get
this message.
