Thanks Claus. But after much study it turns out that the cause was
'Return' (CRLF) characters present in that string. When viewed in the
program I was using these had been displayed as a period, '.'. When viewed
in IrfanView Properties Comment the string was seen as originally
intended, split onto two lines.
