I have just written a report that includes 20 graphs copied into word from excel as pictures, as shown on screen. Each excel file in total is just over 4mb in size, but after pasting the graphs in, the word dicument is 106mb. Each graph has roughly 8000 data points plotted. I tried compressing down to 96dpi and this wiped a whole 1mb off the file size. whoopee.
In previous versions of excel/word, the word file wouldn't be anywhere near as big. Why is it so large and unwieldy now, and is there any way around it? |
