Default formula to fill text with multiple conditions

How do i fill the cells above with the corresponding
name on the total line with that name. For example
Col A Col D
blank wk27
blank wk28
blank wk29
blank wk30
Smith Total
blank wk27
blank wk28
blank wk29
johnson Total

thanks

If this is what you're looking for...

Smith wk27
Smith wk28
Smith wk29
Smith wk30
Smith Total
johnson wk27
johnson wk28
johnson wk29
johnson Total

....try the following...

1) Select your data in Column A

2) Edit Go To Special Blanks Ok

3) Tab down to the blank cell just before the first name, in this case A4

4) Press =

5) Hit the 'Down Arrow'

6) Hit CONTROL+ENTER

Hope this helps!

Let's say you want to fill A1:A4 with the name "Smith" which is in A5
and A6:A8 with the name "Johnson" which is in A9.

1. A4=A5
2. Copy A4
3. Select A1:A9
4. Press F5 - Special - Blanks
5. Paste

Hope it helps.
