Both can be resolved from the ToolsOptions dialog box. On the View tab, uncheck Startup Task Pane in the "Show" section On the Error Checking tab, uncheck the Enable background error checking in the "Settings" section. note: the green triangles indicate there is some kind of error in those cells.
