Default In Excel, why sort function fails when applied to a list of date?

You need to provide more details. For instance, what do mean by "fails"?
What happens when you sort? Do you get an error? Do you get a sort but
it's not right?
I take it that you are trying to sort a list of dates. Where did the
date entries come from? Are you sure they are all dates? Some or all may
be text that appear to be dates. HTH Otto
