Default Date Format

The digits typed do not match the output, I wonder why.
I also tried to type 000000 and that defaulted to Jan1 1900.
then I input 010101 which results into 8/27/27 , for 8/27/1927. this
really baffles me, as I tried to Clear All to no avail.
thanks for your help

You have to put in a date separator to get dates, such as

01/01/01

or

15/01/2004

dah, thanks, Bob. yup, the separators...that about doubles the time during
huge amount of data entries. So I did the right thing ... created a special
format "00 00 00" , with only 6 digits needed for input.

If you have a lot of dates to input, you could take a look at
http://xldynamic.com/source/xld.QDEDownload.html, might be just what you
need.

Default Date Format

So aside from the QDE tool, Excel(2000) does not have an input mask for dates
like it has for SS# or zip codes. My data is very simple and do not
anticipate calculating on the dates.
