![]() I think you should be able to achieve this by using the 'Formula is' functionality of conditional formatting along with the 'Right' function. Try this - Select Formula is and in the box next to it type =right(A1,5)="river" and select the corresponding format Proceed to do the same for Creek in the second condition and then tweak to =right(A1,6)="stream" and set your third format. Note that A1 in the formulas above should be the first cell in your range. It sounds like you are familiar with conditional formatting to fill in the blanks - if not let me know.
