Default Automation issue

Hi,
I kinda have 3 questions. I never used access so it is hard for me to judge
my options at this point, so i decided to ask he
1. Where can I have more automation options - Excel or Access? In excel I
know a bit of macros but nothing too fancy
2. which of the two programs provides more visual options: charts, objects,
graphs etc...
3. Can any of the two programs be used as a reporting tool?

1. I am not an Access expert, but I would have thought that as both can act
as automation servers or clients, it is equal on which is better.

2. I would have thought Excel wins that one.

3. Excel is not a reporting tool (although many people try to use it as
one), so I guess Access is better here.
