Default Input period, but get .+

When typing entries in an EXCEL cell, I want to end the sentence with a
period. However, a plus sign appears after each period and I have to
go back and delete it. It's only been happening the last couple of
weeks, but I don't understand why.

Did I inadvertently change something in the formatting?

Cameron
