inter workbook links do not update even when both are open ???
We have very large workbooks which have links to each other. Usually when
opening a linked workbook to one that is already opened, excel identifies this and updates the links between the two and the paths in the cell formula reduce down. This does not seem to be happening in excel 2003. |

Is calculation set to automatic (tools|options|calculation tab)?
Are you sure you have both workbooks open in the same instance of excel? Check under Window. Do you see both workbook names at the bottom of that dropdown? If the workbooks are open in different instances, then the updating of links won't be automatic. Lawrenph wrote: We have very large workbooks which have links to each other.
