Default Existing file not defaulting to same location using "Save As"

When I open an existing file and try to save it, it defaults to my documents
instead of to the existing file location. Recently started happening after
another person on the network was upgraded to Office 2003. I am using office
97.

Default

xl2k was the first version that would save a copy into the original's folder.

xl97 still saves to your default location.

Can you upgrade, too?
