Default "Copy Down" doesn't work right

I'm more of an Access guy than an Excel guy, but I help my coworkers when I can. One of them showed me a worksheet (Excel 2007) that, when you enter a formula in a cell -- e.g., =A2&G2&J2 -- and then try to copy it down a column, behaves strangely. The formula copies down the column, and the cell references appear to have adjusted themselves on each row, but the RESULT is absolutely the same as on the first row. Anybody ever seen that? Is it some obscure setting somewhere? Only way I've found to fix it is to dump the entire worksheet to tab-delimited text, then bring it back into an entirely new workbook.

Hi,

have you tried to select ( activate ) the cell which you copied down and then select formulas-tab at ribbon. Then click "Trace precendents".
At this way you can see where the RESULT comes to active cell.
Try this also for the cell which seems to calculate "wrong" way.
