Q: In WORD you can type away on your document, and the header and footer
will
always be there so you can see how it appears (but you can't modify it
without actually going into it)...

Anyway... is there a way to have the header appear in Excel?

A: Only in print preview however next version will have a header visible if
you
are in page layout view
by default, it is not possible to view header and footer in excel 2007.
in excel 2007, goto view and choose page layout

or

use this

activesheet.range("A15")= Pagesetup.Leftfooter
activesheet.range("B15")= Pagesetup.rightfooter

it shows the header and foother by default.

all the best
