This question was posted in 2006. Has the answer changed at all since then?
Q: In WORD you can type away on your document, and the header and footer will always be there so you can see how it appears (but you can't modify it without actually going into it)... Anyway... is there a way to have the header appear in Excel? A: Only in print preview however next version will have a header visible if you are in page layout view |

Excel 2007 has the page layout view allowing you to see the header/footer
on screen. So, assuming "Next version" refers to 2007, no change to the answer. Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Tue, 18 May 2010 11:58:15 -0700, Beancounter wrote: This question was posted in 2006. in excel 2007, goto view and choose page layout or use this activesheet.range("A15")= Pagesetup.Leftfooter activesheet.range("B15")= Pagesetup.rightfooter it shows the header and foother by default. all the best
