That little black square is called the Fill Handle. While the cursor is a narrow + sign right click and hold then drag down the column the number of cells you want to fill. When you reach that last cell release the right mouse button amd a menu will appear. Select Fill Series from that menu. Then click and hold with the LEFT mouse button. Now just drag down and as you do the values will increment.
