Default Excel Column Problems

I click on column A and both column A & B highlight. How do I fix this so it
is just column A?

Do you perhaps have a merged cell that is causing problems?
Is the extension option enabled (try tapping F8).

Have you merged the columns by mistake?

2007 see Alignment tab - merge and centre - click

No, they were not merged. I selected to unmerge and it did nothing.

F8 did nothing as well. I still have the problem. I also noticed that if I
use the arrow keys to move within the spreed sheet, it does not move the box
to the next cell. I have to use the mouse.

Press the Scroll Lock key to fix the arrow issue.
