I find a lot of the time I have to clear my cookies, history etc in order to
post a question to this site. I can log in but when I click new questions then it brings up the box for the questions. However, I cannot view the discussion group choices. I only see a drop down menu and can't read the discussion group. I can' see the I accept button. I can now but I had to delete my cookies to do this?? This has caused me to post some questions more than once and later hours later they show up!! By taken I have been chastise for duplicating posts. |

Serious users of the newsgroup do not visit using a browser but with a news
reader (Outlook Express, Windows Life Mail, etc) You just need to add a news account with server: msnews.microsoft.com; then subscribe to whichever Excel newsgroups that interest you. Outlook doesn't act as a usegroup reader, but Outlook Express and Windows
Mail do. (Well, maybe Outlook does, but I've just never been able to figure out how to get it to act as one). "mklafert" wrote: Thank you didn't know that I have live mail but don't really use it. Nope Outlook has never supported NNPT or newsgroup reading, it always
invoked Outlook Express for that task. JLatham wrote: Outlook doesn't act as a usegroup reader, but Outlook Express and Windows Mail do. I've never used them, but there are addins available (for some/all???) versions
of outlook. A quick google search revealed this: http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/news.htm JLatham wrote: Outlook doesn't act as a usegroup reader, but Outlook Express and Windows Mail do. I thought I was correct, but seems everytime I make an 'absolute' statement
out in public, someone almost instantly proves me wrong, so I kind of hedged my bet this time. Thanks for covering my back. Of course Dave Peterson has now shot at least a small hole in the statement already, but I'll stick by my guns "AS DELIVERED, Outlook does not...." <g "Bob I" wrote: Nope Outlook has never supported NNPT or newsgroup reading, it always invoked Outlook Express for that task. You might want to read the disclaimer at the bottom of the page at the
link Dave provided. It can be done through add-ons but the results are not pretty. Sorta like you can put a saddle on a pig, but a horse is much prefered.
