Could someone tell me why this table cannot be sorted on the energy factor
column? The sort function is greyed out. http://downloads.energystar.gov/bi/q..._prod_list.xls At first I thought because the "numbers" are text, so I created a new colum K using =H1 and extended down, then I copy and paste the values into column J. Surprisingly, column J still won't sort. Even if I manually enter some numbers into a new column, they still won't sort. $&*%$*? |

I can't help but wonder why programmers keep using menu grey-out to replace dialog. In this case, selecting sort should display a prompt "you have 2 sheets selected, do you wish to de-selected and sort? Yes No" This is not just more friendly, but saves them money in support cost. |

I agree there should be more indication than the static [Group] on the title
bar. Not sure what would be entailed or what other indication could be employed. Many people get burned by this. You can get disastrous results with grouped sheets. Most everything you do to the activesheet will be done to all sheets in the group. Gord On Sat, 20 Feb 2010 08:02:31 -0800, "james" wrote: "Gord Dibben" <gorddibbATshawDOTca wrote in message .. .
