Excel 2003 save as earlier version
How can I save my Excel 2003 order form in an earlier version? Many of our
customers can't open/use it as they don't have Excel 2003. It prompts them to load Microsoft Component and most times, they can't download it. -- Thank you, Gayle |

I think you are confusing your versions of Excel. 2003 uses the same file
format as all versions since 97. In 2007, the file format was changed. To accommodate this, you have two options: -- upgrade your 2003 versions to be able to read these files (upgrade available on the Microsoft website) -- in 2007, save the file in 97-2003 format (on the Save As... menu) Regards, Fred "Gayle" wrote in message ... Excel 2003 save as earlier version
Are the recipients using Windows or Macs?
If they are using windows, what version of excel are they using? Like Fred says, xl97-xl2003 all use the same format? Are they using xl95 or earlier? Excel 2003 save as earlier version
Most are using Windows and probably have very old software. I've seen it and
it just said you must have a Web Component to open the order form. I don't recall if it specifies a particular component. Excel 2003 save as earlier version
Type "Web component" in to the help box in Excel.
The 3rd hit down should be "about the spreadsheet web component". Maybe you used it to retrieve info from a web page--either in testing or on purpose??? I found the instructions and hate to admit I'm confussed but, I'm not HTML literate. And never got a Spreadsheet control box to click on or off. I've never used the spreadsheet control, either.
Did you use one (even by accident) to create a pivottable. If you want, you can remove any proprietary data from your workbook (skinny it down, please) and zip it and send it to me.
