Default Shortcut in Excel

Is there a keyboard shortcut for autofilling in Excel - I am a more of a user
of the keyboard than the mouse and wondered if there was a key combination
for this?

Many thanks

Type 1 in A1 cell and now place the cursor in A1 cell and extend your
selection upto A10 by holding the shift key. Now press Alt+E+I+S and press
enter. Now your selection will be filled with the continuous numbers with
the base value of A1 cell.

Assume that you are having the value Row 1 in A1 cell like the below

A1 cell
Row 1

Now you want to fill upto A10 cell like Row 2, Row3, Row4 and so on.. then
place the cursor in A1 cell and extend your selection upto A10 and press
Alt+E+I+S and press Alt+F and press enter.

Remember to Click Yes, if this post helps!

Only *** shortcuts *** around autofill are

CTRL+D Uses the Fill Down command to copy the contents and format of the
topmost cell of a selected range into the cells below.

CTRL+R Uses the Fill Right command to copy the contents and format of the
leftmost cell of a selected range into the cells to the right.

So if you are looking at entering sequence numbers then enter 1 in the 1st
cell say A1. Enter the formula =A1+1 in cell A2 and then select the range to
be filled say A2:A10. Then hit Ctrl+D

Hi Annie

You had 2 responses to this question when you posted in microsoft.excel on
07 Feb.
Hector Miguel gave you two separate solutions, both of which work perfectly.
Did you have a problem with them?
