Default Turn off undo

Hi,
Is there a way to temporarily turn off the undo function.
I'm sorting 40000 rows of data and then deleting based on criteria and then
resorting. I'm sure its taking forever because it wants to remember stuff so
I can undo but I'd rather get on with it!
Thanks

Chriswilko -

I don't know about turning Undo off, but if you save after every big step,
that clears the Undo log.

I'd try turning calculation to manual first.

But maybe you can use these links:

xl2k and above
XL: How to Modify the Number of Undo Levels
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=211922

xl97
XL97: How to Modify the Number of Undo Levels
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=162944

And change the undo level to 0.

ps.

If you have google desktop search (or any of those other programs that index
your files for quicker searching), you may want to disable it to see if that
helps.
