Default Drop Box Width

I am having a weird behavior will my workbook! I have 5 columns in my
worksheets that contain a drop box for data validation. My question is, what
controls the width of the drop box? In one of my columns the drop box is
twice the width of the column when I click to open it. No matter how I adjust
the columns width, the drop box opens wider than the columns width. I am
using dynamic range cells for my data validation, and I have adjust the
columns width from that worksheet the match all the other worksheets. No sure
what to try next!

Any help would be appreciated!

Default Drop Box Width

JDH,
If I understand you correctly, the drop down boxes is wider than the column
you are selecting iteems from a validation list.

That being said, try this:
Select a cell in the column with the drop down box. Do not make a selection
from list.
Select "Data" from the menubar.
Select "Validation".
In the "Source" section, you will find the source of your validation list.
Got to that column, resize as you desire.

Default Drop Box Width

Thanks for the reply,

Not sure I understand your post. When I go to DataValidationSource I have
(=NHTSA) for my "dynamic range" which is on another worksheet which the
column width is set at "4.14". If I go to DataValidationSource, how do I
resize the column from there? From the worksheet itself my column width is
set at "4.14" (the same as the worksheet of my data validation) but the drop
box list opens at a width of "10 to 13".

Default Drop Box Width

This is not the solution. Re-sizing the source has absolutely no effect on
the width of the drop-down box.
