Default how do i get rid of the preview pane when opening an Excel 2003?

Having just reinstalled Office 2003 following a system crash, I now get a
preview pane on the 'open file' box, which just says 'preview not available'
when I click on any xls file. Does anybody know how to get rid of this?

FileOpenClick Views dropdown and change to List or Details or your choice.
