I can able to search the workbook which contains the numeric number 99669.
Locate the folder or Drive which consist the file and do right click and select SEARCH All part of the file name: Mention *.xls or check whether the file format is xls or xlsx. If it is xlsx then mention it as *.xlsx A word or phrase in the file: 99669 Give search and now you will get the file which is having the 99669. Its working fine for me. (WindowsXP-Service Pack2) Remember to Click Yes, if this post helps! -------------------- (Ms-Exl-Learner) -------------------- "Sgroe" wrote: I used to have the ability to enter a numeric string in the search for "a word or phrase in the file" however this no longer works. I can do a search for text in excel files with results but for instance if I search for 99669 their are no search results even if the number is in an xls file. Any help would be much appreciated.
