Default Can't access cells

I have a problem I haven't seen or heard of before. The workbook I am working
with has cells in a single worksheet that I cannot access once the worksheet
is protected. Here is what I have done. Unprotected the worksheet, unlocked
the cells, made sure the hidden is not selected. I can access all the cells,
modify data, etc like normal. Then, if I protect the worksheet, when I try to
access unprotected cells, my active cell jumps to cell L10 and I can't enter
any data into other cells. I have three other worksheets that are working
fine.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you.

While Protecting your worksheet check "select unlocked cells" and give
password and give ok.

Thank you for your help. I had already done what you suggested and it didn't
work. Playing around, I found that the problem somehow involved merged cells.
There were times when I couldn't access the cells and other times when the
TAB key was pressed, it skipped over merged cells. So, I un-merged the cells,
set the locked property to off on all the cells, merged them again and and
the problem was solved.

Hope this might help someone else.
