Default How do I use different colours in drop down menus in Excel 2003?

In a spreadsheet I'm using the Validation Data tool to create a drop down
menu for cells but all the background colour is white no matter how I shade
the source cells. Is it possible to shade the cells in the drop down menu?

Regards
Mark

Try using conditional formatting.
If this was helpful please tick yes.

That will color the cell only after a selection is made from the list.

The items in the list itself cannot be colored.

No it is not possible to shade the values in a data validation drop down.
Even in a Combo box that is not possible (you can choose only one colour for
all of the entries).
