Default excel mru list

Two distinct instances of Excel do not communicate.

You don't need two instances running to have a workbook in each monitor.

See Chip Pearson's site for how-to.

If I have excel open twice on the same PC (different monitors) and I
save each file, if I look at the MRU list in excel, it doesn't show
them. This is excel 2003.

My understanding is, it only upates a file name in the MRU for excel
if it is opened in excel, not by double-clicking the file; when it's
saved, but only if saved with a name not already in the MRU
list...etc.

Is there a way to make a macro or something that every time I save an
excel file it updates the MRU list so it would then appear in the
other spreadsheet on the mru list?

thanks,
