Default Excel Viewer

Sometimes when I get a file from someone and try to open it, it opens in
Excel Viewer and I have to click Open for Editing. Today, a file that I
created and sent to someone else did the same thing. Why is that happening?
and is there a way to stop it?

Thanks.

Hi KC,

You may try this.

Just right click any excel file, open with, choose program..., Select
"Microsoft Office Excel" and check the "Always use the selected program to
open this kind of file" and press OK.

From next time onwards, all of your excel files should open in Excel
application only and not with the viewer.

Thanks,

Bala
