Default Front End for Spreadsheet

It is possible to have a front end of some kind on a spreadsheet in the same
way I can use a Form in Access to allow a user to enter data without doing so
directly into the grid?

I don't speak the Access, but you may want to look at Data|Form (in xl2003
menus). If you're using xl2007, I think you have to add it to the QAT (or run a
macro).

If that's not enough...
You could look at John Walkenbach's enhanced data form:
http://j-walk.com/ss/dataform/index.htm

The source code is available for a small fee ($20 USA, IIRC). So you can modify
it as much as you want.

Or you could build your own...

Debra Dalgleish has some nice notes about userforms:

(video: http://contextures.com/xlVideos05.html#UserForm01)
and
