Default Counting mixed formats in a column

I have one column of date. In it is data of the type -
12345
15689
12458A
C55897
and some blank cells.

I want to count the number of cells that are not blank whatever they contain
(i.e. whether they are pure numbers or text/numbers or numbers/text.
Can you provide a formula for this.

Thanks
