I try to import data from Access into Excel by using menu Data/Import
External Data/Import Data. In the Select Data Source dialog box I then point
to my Access database. This brings up a list of queries (views) and tables
that I can select between. So far so good.

But the list of tables does not contain the database tables that are linked
tables, i.e. linking to a second Access database. Likewise, the list of
queries is missing a lot of queries, probably all queries that are drawing
on linked tables at some point down in the hierarchy of subqueries. This
goes for Excel 2003 and 2007 as well.

Is this correct? Should it be so? What can I do to give Excel access to all
Access tables and queries?

I have recently bumped into this problem too. I have found that queries that have expressions in the fields selected or are built on queries involving these expressions are not visible in excel through the external data import process.

I don't know why and need a solution to this too
