Default Linked cell truncating data

I have multiple individual status reports, and select cells from these is
linked to a summary report. It appears that data in the summary report is
being truncated at 255 when the status report cell is fine.

If the sending workbook is open in the same instance of excel as the receiving
workbook, then you'll see all the text.

If the sending workbook is not open in that same instance, you'll be limited to
those 255 characters.
