Default Closing Excel

When I close an Excel spreadsheet located on my hard drive, it also closes
the web based applications I have running in separate windows. Suggestions?

Hi,

So you are like running Google and Amazon and Excel and when you close Excel
Amazon.com and Google close?

If this helps, please click the Yes button.

It would help if you'd tell us which web based applications you are
running and how you started them.

One obvious workaround is to minimize, rather than close, Excel. Finish
up with your web apps and then close Excel.
