Default View side by side

In Excel 2007 my view side by side button is grayed out, also arrange all
button shows the dialog box asking me how I want to arrange several open
Excel windows , but after I make my selection nothing happens . Any
suggestions how to fic this?

Make sure you have multiples workbooks open within one instance of application.
