Default conditional formatting dependent of preceding cell

Can you set a conditional format dependent of the cell in the previous
column. Example cell B2 dependent on A2, B3 dependent on A3, etc?

Default conditional formatting dependent of preceding cell

1. Select the cOLUMN b
2. From menu FormatConditional Formatting
3. For Condition1Select 'Formula Is' and enter the below formula
=A1<5
4. Click Format ButtonPattern and select your color (say Red)
5. Hit OK
