Default Highlighting a block of text within a cell

Is it possible to highlight a block of text in Excel???

I am bolding "Comma Missing here!" in black. Is it possible to put a yellow
background on just this portion of text within a cell to really make it stand
out???

Thanks in advance for your review and hopeful for a reply.

The short answer is no. The pattern or fill colour is an all or nothing
proposition.

Background fill is for entire cell only.

You can select that text in the formula bar and change the font color.

Or by fiddling around you can add a semi-transparent rectangle and lay it
over the text.

Use the Drawing Toolbar for this.

Thanks for your reply. I was afriad that would be the answer. I guess I'll
let the creative side of my brain try and come up with something via paint or
with a draw option as suggested by Gord.

These Microsoft Forums just continue to be the BEST because of people like
you all.

Thanks Again!
