Default Saving Word and Excel documents

I am being plagued by the message 'delayed write failed' when trying to save
documents in Word 2003 and Excel 2003. Sometimes they do sometimes don't.

My computer is attached to a server together with a number of other
computers. No one else is having the problem. I can sign on though one of the
other computers and encounter the same problem.

Can someone please help?
