Default Alerts on Changes to Workbooks?

My problem is this. I have an identical workbook currently saved on two
independent LANS's. They have no connection or linkage at all. What I want,
is an alert or email that there have been changes made on one of the
workbooks, so I can make the corresponding changes to the other. My
application does not allow me to use the 'discussion' function. Is there any
way this can be done?

Default Alerts on Changes to Workbooks?

If its not too large you could send the entire workbook by email each time
its saved:

Private Sub Workbook_BeforeSave(ByVal SaveAsUI As Boolean, Cancel As Boolean)
ActiveWorkbook.SendMail Recipients:="Jimmy Page"

End Sub
