Default Excel 2007 and Paste Special with HTML and data from the web

Hello,

In previous versions of Excel, if one pasted data in from an HTML table
(i.e. a paste from a web page), it would maintain the formatting, etc. In
Excel 2007, it pastes everything into a single cell as text.

Is there anyway to fix this?

Does anyone have an explanation as to what / why this is happening?

Thanks

It appears that while previous versions of Office would recognize HTML table
data even if only part of the data was copied, in Office 2007, it appears
that the entire table must be copied in order for it to be recognized
properly.

Does anyone have any workarounds or advice?

Mystery solved!

Copy the same html table data from the web using Firefox vs. IE and you get
different results when pasting into Excel. Probably has to do with
discrepancies in the way the HTML is rendered which throw off the
clipboard's rendering engine.
