Default copy/paste loses formatting

If I copy a range from one worksheet (not the entire worksheet) and then
paste into another worksheet of a different workbook, I lose the
grouping/hidden attributes from the master worksheet. Is there a way to copy
and paste while preserving the respecting grouped and hidden rows?

Using the copy function in excel is not an option, as I need to copy the
range into a worksheet embedded on a powerpoint slide.
