Default Sum of cells not updating when cell changed.

.. not sure why some of my worksheets have had the calc mode changed

The behaviour's like this. Excel will take the calc mode from that for the
1st book that's opened in the Excel session. Any subsequent books opened in
the same session will take on that 1st book's calc mode, irrespective of
their earlier saved calc modes. So you probably opened a 1st book which was
(unknown to you) earlier saved in manual calc mode.
